When your Child reaches the six month mark, a diet of breastmilk or formula alone no longer meets infants’ nutritional requirements. Other foods are needed to complement milk-feeds, and at this age infants are ready to start learning the skills needed for eating solids, and to experience new tastes and textures. This is where Charlie Wags comes in!
What foods to introduce....
Foods can be introduced in any order and at a rate that suits your Bubba provided the texture is suitable for the infant’s stage of development.
From around six months iron rich foods, including rice cereals, legumes, soy beans, lentils, fish, meat, poultry, and veg, can all be introduced in puree form.
Before 12 months, other nutritious foods can also be introduced including
Cooked or raw vegetables such as carrot, potato, broccoli, fruits including apple, banana, watermelon, whole egg, oats, bread, pasta, nut pastes, toast fingers and rusks, dairy foods such as full-fat cheese, custards and yoghurt!
There is no need to add salt, sugar or other flavouring to infant foods. Pre-boiled cooled water or cow’s milk can be added if liquid is needed while pureeing or mashing.
All of our products at Charlie Wags are made from 100% high quality food-grade silicone, and are BPA and toxin free! They are bacteria resistant and allergy-friendly, while also being ultra hygienic.
They are also microwave and dishwasher safe, making meal times that little bit easier!
